[New Dawn : Characters ] Branwen Arianas

Bio: Branwen Arianas was born 33 NE on Kellis II, though you won't find any proof of that. However, a Branwen Rhys-Llew was born to a farming family that year.

The only daughter amongst 7 children, Branwen grew up being treated like one of the boys, even while her parents expected her to be prim and proper. It became abundantly clear that she wasn't cut out to live the life her parents expected, when they caught her in the barn with one of her brother's girlfriends.

At the age of 14, Branwen was disowned (and declared dead by her parents) and lived on the streets (though she was given shelter by her oldest brother Morgan- an act which caused him to be lose his right to inheritance). Ultimately she was taken in by Sabi Flyrre, and became the first Guardian of Light in training.

Between the ages of 16-18, there's very little agreement as to what happened. According to some, she went rogue, got involved with a minor Mystred player... and according to others, she helped undermine Mystred's slave trade. All that's known is that at the end of that period of time, Branwen managed to "graduate" the Guardian program, and went off on her own.

She tried her hand at bounty hunting, bringing in Corellian thief, Mak Roanoke... and by all accounts failed miserably at her next bounty hunting job- leaving before it was completed. Since that time, it was rumored that she worked with Roanoke- and that seemed to have been solidified by both their presence in Jehryngrad. Currently, rumors abound that she is in fact, dead.

Character Notes: Branwen is not in fact dead. Branwen is just this side of crazy, and probably always has been. She's got a bag full of issues related to the life that she doesn't talk about, and another for the life that she's led since them. Despite the fact that she comes off as unprofessional and a bit of a wild card, she is a trained operative, and does act like one.

[New Dawn : Characters ] Ydaphe

Bio: Ydaphe was born in 35 NE on Dirwal, a small planet located in the Nyenyl system. The only daughter of the head of her tribe, Ydaphe's life was laid out before her. She would be taught the old ways, molded into a ruler of people, and then given a mate worthy of her.

At the age of 13, Ydaphe received her tiger tattoos (part of the Nahri coming of age ceremony), and preparations were made for her to marry the son of the head of a neighboring tribe.

Shortly before the wedding took place, Ydaphe was abducted by slavers, where she was groomed to be a very special slave indeed. She was taught all sorts of subjects- everything from serving as a guide, to the art of dancing. For nearly two years, she spent the bulk of her life in a small cell, beaten and assaulted when her captors felt like it.

Near her 16th birthday, she was to be auctioned off, as the slavers felt that they'd molded her into a valuable commodity. At the auction, she was bought by Sabi Flyrre, and returned to her homeworld. Surprisingly, Ydaphe was not put off by her experience at the hands of offworlders. Just as she had seen that some were cruel, Sabi showed her that others could be gracious.

While her family wanted her to remain and take her place as the head of her tribe, they understood her desire to better understand the galaxy at large. And so, she became a Guardian of the Light, a non-Force using student of Sabi's.

As a Guardian, Ydaphe was typically left at the temple while the Jedi went off to do their business, and spent the bulk of that time learning- everything from basic studies to Jedi Lore. While not the strongest at traditional combat, she excels at archery and acrobatics.

She accompanied the Silver Imperium delegation to Semakas, where she served in a diplomatic role. After Semakas, she returned to her homeworld to announce her intention to remain with the Jedi. There has been some discussion at the Jedi Council as to what to do with Ydaphe, as it has recently come to light that she is Force Sensitive. However, given her knowledge of the 'Ancient Language,' it seems likely that she will become a Scholar.

Character Notes: Ydaphe is an optimist. She's survived the worst of humanity, and firmly believes that there is still much good in the galaxy. She's shouldered the burden of being a near-deity to her people (they believe that her family line is descended from the gods), as well seeing that she's the little sister in her Jedi family. Fortunately she's found a kindred spirit in Ruo, who though coming from a tribe of a very different background (the Semakani are far more warrior-like than the Nahri), they have a very similar outlook on life.

[New Dawn : Characters ] Danira Flyrre

Bio: Danira Flyrre was born in 31 NE on J'stain III. The only child of Sabine Forh and Alec Yantrev, Dani spent the first year of her life in the care of her father. Once her mother gained her footing, it was the last that Dani would really know of Yantrev.

Dani grew up as the daughter of New Republic Ambassador Griffin Flyrre. She was extremely loved by her adoptive father, and was never wanting for anything. When she was only 3, her family's apartment on Wolle Station was bombed... she was the only survivor.

For the next two years, she spent equal time in the care of the Jedi Council, as well as in the care of her mother. From the age of 5 until she was 9, she was trained by her mother, in all aspects of the Force. However, it was on her 9th birthday that she was apprentice to Jedi Master Ondine Drat, a diplomat.

By the age of 16, Dani was elected Senator to the J'stain star system for the Wolle Sector Senate, and served as an adviser to Wolle's delegation in the Galactic Senate. As a testament to her abilities in the Force, shortly after being made Jedi Knight, she was given a seat on the Jedi Council.

Without much say in the matter, Dani has become the public face for the New Jedi Order. Her life is firmly rooted in both her family and the Order, and she's both charismatic and attractive. While this has allowed her to further her career as a diplomat, it has made maintaining any semblance of a personal life difficult.

She refrains from romantic relationships- her (extremely public) year long romance with intergalactic playboy Reb Soruun has proven to be a deviation for her. While the tabloids have often taken every opportunity to place her in a romantic relationship (names recently suggested include thief Mak Roanoke and her mother's student Kam Enar-Teloc), there has been no concrete proof.

Since successfully negotiating mining rights on Semekas on behalf of the Silver Imperium, she has withdrawn from her duties in the Wolle Sector Senate, focusing instead on her duties in the Jedi Council and as an adviser to Imperium Chancellor Meira Jennings.

Character Notes: While Dani's the poster child for the Jedi Order, she's also an illustration of how difficult the life of a Jedi can be. At the age of 3, the only father she remembered was killed in an explosion, as was her baby brother. Her entire life, she's seen how the Jedi Order views her mother and her step-father (which has rarely been positive) as well as how the public can still view the Order in a negative light. She's recently lost the first person she really felt a connection with, and that she felt as though she loved. For the first time in her life, she's questioning her life as a Jedi- especially as a diplomat.

Personality wise, Dani's the closest thing to the Jedi archtype in Wolle. Of course, while she's a serious Jedi... she's still the daughter of Sabi Flyrre. And that does tend to rear it's head once in awhile.
